IMAX Theatre Birthday Parties packages include:

  • Free admission for the birthday guest of honour.

  • Special birthday party admission for everyone.

  • Reserved seating for your group.

  • Birthday Combo (includes popcorn, soft drink and a peanut-free treat).

  • Use of party area for one hour before or after your film (based on availability).

  • Birthday announcement before the show on the giant screen which can include a photo of the birthday star!

  • Show times are scheduled weekly, therefore, exact show times cannot be guaranteed until the week of your party.

 

  • Shows listed under the IMAX WISH LIST are not confirmed shows, therefore, we will not know the exact shows playing until the week of your party.

  • Parties can be booked a maximum of 2 weeks prior to your preferred party date.

  • IMAX Theatre Birthday Parties are for ages 12 and under

Can we bring our own cake or other food (pizza, etc)?

If you have reserved the party area (subject to availability), you can bring birthday treats. No sparklers please!

Can I heat up or refrigerate food I bring?

IMAX Theatre can provide fridge space upon request at time of booking. Due to health code restrictions, IMAX Theatre cannot heat up your food.

Where is the theatre located? Where do we park?
 

IMAX Theatre is located on level 3 of Portage Place Shopping Centre, 393 Portage Ave.

Where is the party area and what does it include?
 

The party area is located in our side lobby and allows you a semi-private opportunity to enjoy your birthday cake and sing "Happy Birthday" to the guest of honour. The party area has seating for up to 25 guests. The party area is a neutral space, allowing you to decorate in whatever theme you like. Parents/caregivers are responsible for set-up and removal of any decorations. It is available for one hour use pre- or post-show and is subject to availability (first come first served).

Do we get the theatre to ourselves?

How do I have my child’s photo put on the giant screen before the show?
 

At the time of booking, simply let us know you would like to take advantage of this option. Then e-mail us a digital photo (minimum 150 dpi) in jpeg format to birthdays@imaxwpg.com

Photos should be appropriate for public presentation (head shot preferred).

Please note that all photos are deleted after your event.  Sorry, we no longer accept printed photographs. 

How do I find out what’s playing?

As our pubilc schedule is always changing, show times are confirmed typically one to two weeks in advance. Bookings must be made a minimum of five days in advance of the party. Please check our showtimes section or e-mail us at groupsales@imaxwpg.com for upcoming schedules. 

Do I have pay a deposit? How or when do I pay for my Birthday Party Package?

No deposit is required for your party. Full payment in one lump sum is due prior to show time at the IMAX Theatre Box Office. Cash, debit, Master Card, Visa and American Express are accepted.
